2006 Vieux Château Certan

What a pleasure it is to taste and drink the 2006 Vieux Château Certan. Wonderfully sexy and gracious, the 2006 VCC has something that is so rare in this vintage: finesse. Broad, ample and creamy, the 2006 possesses remarkable depth and pliancy throughout. Sweet dark cherry, blueberry, mint, rose petal, licorice and exotic spice are fused together in a racy, undeniably seductive Pomerol that is impossible to resist. Although it is incredibly alluring today, the 2006 also has enough pedigree to develop beautifully for another two decades or more. This is a superb effort from Alexandre Thienpont and one of the most striking wines of the year. 95+/Drinking window: 2016-2036.
